Personal data is data which directly or indirectly relates to a living individual, e.g. name, phone number and e-mail address.
You are not required to furnish any personal data with us, but if you do not do so, the Law firm may not be able to undertake an engagement for you, since we cannot assess a control of conflict of interests or necessary actions under the AML-legislation or administrate the engagement, or process your job application.
For clients and other persons related to an engagement may the following personal data be processed: Name, personal identification number, contact information (address, e-mail address and phone number), copy of passport or other identification, bank- and invoicing details (bank account number, invoicing data, payment records, payment reminders etc.), information provided or collected in relation to an engagement, employer information. Other personal data may also be processed depending on the nature of the engagement.
For job applicants may the following personal data be processed: Name, personal identification number, contact information (address, e-mail address and phone number), details about the job position applied, information in personal letter, CV and merits and other documentation provided, and information furnished by reference persons.
For supplier and collaborating partners may the following personal data be processed: Name, title, employer information and contact details (address, e-mail address and phone number).
The Law firm process personal data provided or collected in relation to an engagement, job application or supplier engagements in order to carry out mandatory controls of conflict of interest and (if applicable) AML-controls, perform and administrate our engagement, to safeguard our clients interest, for accounting and invoicing purposes, to process job applications and to administrate the Law firm´s supplier engagements. The personal data are processed on the basis of mandatory laws and the Swedish Bar Association ethical guidelines, which include processing that is necessary to fulfill contractual obligations, statuary obligations and business objectives, and appropriate business administration.
The personal data may also be processed for business and method development, market analysis, statistics and risk management. The data processed for the purpose of developing and analyzing the business is processed on the basis of the Law firm´s legitimate interest in developing the business and communicating with the Law firm´s business contacts.
The personal data may be disclosed within the Law firm for sharing information, knowledge and resource allocation.
The Law firm will not disclose personal data to third perties other than in those cases
- it is specifically agreed between you and the Law firm;
- it is necessary, within the context of a certain engagement, to safeguard your rights;
- if it is necessary for the Law firm to comply with statutory duty or to comply with authority decisions or court decisions;
- in case the Law firm hire third-party service providers who carry out engagements for the Law firm or on your account.
Personal data may be disclosed to courts, authorities, counterparties and their agents if it is considered necessary to safeguard your rights.
Personal data are stored, in accordance with the obligation imposed on the Law firm under the Swedish Bar Association´s ethical guidelines, during a time period of ten years from the day of completion of the engagement, or the extended time period required by the nature of the engagement. Personal data processed for the purpose of developing, analyzing and marketing the Law firm is stored for a period of one year from the latest correspondence. Personal data related to job applications are stored one year and data relation to supplier and collaborating partners, one year after the engagement ended.
You are entitled request information from the Law firm, free of charge, regarding the use of personal data relating to you. We will, at your request or on our own initiative, correct or delete incorrect data or limit the processing of such data. You also have the right to request that your personal data is not processed for direct marketing purposes. If you are dissatisfied with our processing, you can file a complaint to the Swedish Data Protection Authority (www.datainspektionen.se). You can also contact the regulatory authority of the country where you live or work.
